The high point of the year for us was qualifying along with 50 other winners in open competition with 500 London charities to receive an award from the Barclays-Metro LONDonations Awards Scheme. It is always valuable for us to know that our work is validated in this way.

I spent six months looking for a free or low-cost counselling service as I was suffering some long-standing issues in my life and had no one to turn to. Of the four or five counsellors and psychotherapists I found on a website featuring low-cost counselling, not one responded to my e-mails or telephone messages.
I had all but given up on the prospect of finding a counsellor who would charge a fee I could afford when I read about the CLCC.
I was delighted when my initial enquiry was responded to promptly and courteously and I was invited for an assessment.
The counselling I received from my counsellor was extremely beneficial and has helped me no end. She was understanding, warm and explored various long-standing issues with me. As with staff members at the Centre I was treated in a non-condescending manner. I felt comfortable which has not usually been the case with previous psychotherapists who have been from white, middle-class backgrounds and, I feel, not had the experiences to fully understand my situation.
Over all, I would say the CLCC has been one of the most professional set-ups I have come across. Usually when you don’t pay the full whack for something you suffer from lazy service. But with the CLCC it has not been the case.
On the one & only time I missed a session with my counsellor I instantly received a letter. I was regularly given a progress report from every few weeks by my counsellors and just to be given a personal feedback questionnaire at the end of my time with counselling shows me that the organization is willing to listen to its ‘customers’.
Thanks you for everything. I will be eternally grateful to the CLCC and its wonderful staff members for being there for me at a difficult juncture in my life.
